S. Jakarta Satpol PP Told to Prepare for Hydrometeorological Disasters

South Jakarta Satpol PP Acting Head, Rahmat Efendi Lubis, has urged his team to enhance preparedness for hydrometeorological disasters.

All levels from the urban village to the city must increase vigilance and anticipate disasters

According to him, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted that the rainy season in Jakarta would continue until next March.

"All levels from the urban village to the city must increase vigilance and anticipate disasters, especially floods, landslides, and fallen trees," he expressed, Monday (2/3).

He explained field personnel must also keep coordinating with all technical and non-technical elements related to human resources and assist in the availability of facilities and infrastructure for disaster management.

"Early handling in the field must be done according to the existing standard operating procedures (SOP)," he explained.

He also asked the South Jakarta Satpol PP Command Center to continue monitoring the area situation by utilizing the available closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV).

"We have 80 cameras. 20-40 cameras are focused on points that are potential locations for public order disturbances to disasters," he stated.
